Coventry School Building Initiatives

2021-2022

Under the Rhode Island School Construction Program, Coventry Schools has a time-limited opportunity to earn 57.8% reimbursement – about $51 million – from the Rhode Island Department of Education to offset the cost of the proposed projects.

Projects will impact every school in Coventry and include:

 

safety, security, wellbeing, interior finishes, accessibility, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, student-centric enhancements and improvements graphic

 

Alan Shawn Feinstein Renovation and Addition Proposal Video:

 

 

 

 

The Alan Shawn Feinstein Middle School proposal creates a school that has:

  • A new three story academic addition with new classroom spaces, small group collaboration space, and a renovated media center and cafeteria. 
  • A dedicated entrance for community-based activities in the auditorium, media center, and gymnasium. 
  • Exterior improvements include a new main entrance, a dedicated walker dismissal area, and an expanded bus loop for efficient drop-off and pick-up. 
  • New athletic fields as well as additional parking will make the school the main attraction of our community.
